The Seymour Valley community is probably the closest residential area to
the City of North Vancouver Cemetery as the crow flies but is easy to
forget when you are at the site because the site feels so remote - we're
really just down the hill no further than 100 meter away. Thanks in
advance for conducting a post construction noise evaluation - hopefully
we'll be able to avoid any new sources of noise spilling into the
neighbourhood.

See this map http://www.seymourvalley.ca/SVCAmap.JPG for the boundaries
of the community and note the proximity of Swinburne Ave and Edgewater
Lane on the attached photo of the planned Selkirk-Monsahee Rd.

We've had numerous complaints in the past regarding noise spilling out
of the landfill operations - I could hear the operations this morning -
the sounds of trucks backing up and heavy equipment moving is often
heard. We're told landfill operations will soon be ceasing - it is
higher undesirable to have a new, permanent source of noise. Current
complaints are generally coming from residents north of Swinburne as far
away as Chapman Way. I live on the south end of Rivergrove Place and am
often disturbed. The topology of the area has residents at higher
elevations more disturbed by the noise more than people living down on
the Seymour River. Winds and atmospheric pressures also seem to be a
factor. One thing is for certain - sound echos through the valley and
often is amplified by conditions.

I'm happy to assist further in your studies - I'm sure other residents
of the Seymour Valley Community would assist as well. I've cc'ed the
directors of the community association to let them know about your study
and give them an opportunity to add more information.

Sincerely,

Subject: Selkirk Monashee Connector

Dear Mr. Schuurman,

We are following up on your request to evaluate
post-construction noise from the Selkirk Monashee Connector. We have
retained the services of an Acoustical Consultant to undertake the
required study.

Could you please advise us which Streets or specific area of the
Seymour Valley Community could be impacted by noise from the Connector.

I can be reached at 604-451-6196.

Regards,

Steven Lewis
