Subject: Riverside Drive

Dear Councillor MacKay-Dunn;

You have no idea how excited we are to find that you can navigate the Riverside Speed Humps at 30 kph. Please advise us re the vehicle you are driving and the number of times you anticipate that you will be able to navigate them at 30 kph without deteriorating your vehicle's performance.

Thanks,

Subject: Democracy

Dear Mayor Bell:

Question.

Would you please advise us as to how much time individuals are expected to waste dealing with issues that "self declared" representatives of non-majority groups present to NVD Council. We resent that we have to continue to spend time and deal with an issue that is not representative of the general public and is implemented simply because the present laws (in this case speed limits) are not enforced.

Thanks for your response.

Subject: So Called Seymour Valley Community Association

Mr. Burns:

Please be advised that we have never been asked to join the Seymour Valley River Association and, in fact, did not even know that such a "formal" group existed - even though we have lived at our present address for 27 years.

Also please be advised that you and your group absolutely DO NOT REPRESENT us - this is why we ALWAYS VOTE at the local municipal elections. In fact we cannot over emphasise that we RESENT the additional level of bureaucracy that you are attempting to impose and the additional requirements beyond current legal requirements.

Please advise us of the timing of the Seymour Valley River Association AGM and forward us a copy of the constitution.

Subject: Riverside Bumps

Ken

As long as the so called "traffic calming" devices exist - devices that are inappropriate for the general law abiding public - PLEASE, PLEASE have them marked so that they can be noticed under conditions representative of the local conditions (wet pavement, little reflection from vehicle's lights, misplaced overhead lights - operating and non-operating -, sun reflection on dry as well as wet pavement because of the "tar" repair/patches, vehicles parked across the bumps, vehicles parked so that the existing marks are covered, etc, etc, etc,.)

Our personal opinion is that the only marking that might alert the driver to the hazard is to paint each bump - the whole bump - yellow. Remember when anyone comes to "evaluate" the issue they are focused on what they are evaluating. The general public and strangers to the area don't expect to have a major disruption on a public through fare.

Please advise us as to how you will deal with this request.

Thanks,
